Sitta Amram
Amram Sitta, age 92 of St. Paul, on June 1, 2003 at the Lyngblomsten Care Center, St. Paul, MN. Born in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, she moved, as a young woman, to Hanover, where she married Meinhardt (Milton) Amram. In November of 1939 she and her husband and son escaped to the United States. They lived in New York City and then Red Bank, NJ, until the death of Sitta's husband in 1968. Subsequently she moved to Florida and then to the Wellington Apartments in St. Paul, MN, to be with her family. She spent much of her life mourning the loss of two sisters and other family who perished during the Holocaust. Widely referred to as Mama Sitta by caregivers and as Oma by family, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred Amram and Sandra Brick; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael Amram and Debbie Becker; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Susan and Jeff Summit; and two great-granddaughters, Ariana and Zoe, who brought great joy to their Oma's last years. Sitta Amram is buried next to her husband at Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge, NJ. GILL BROTHERS 612-861-6088
